Needle Works 0.5

This release includes a QuickLook plugin. This means that the Finder can show previews of your designs right on the document icons or in CoverFlow. I also added the total stitch count to the printed output. You can download the latest version here or view all downloads here.

Needle Works 0.4

I've uploaded a new release of Needle Works. This version adds enhanced printing where the name and dimensions of the pattern file as well as the stitch names, colors, and order are included with design. You can print the design at actual size or stretched to fit your paper size by going to Needle Works -> Preferences.

Needle Works 0.3

I released version 0.3 tonight. This version allows you to hide or show jumpstitches and choose a simulated background fabric color. Patterns are now displayed at the proper resolution so that the displayed size approximately matches the actual pattern size. Just visit the Window menu within Needle Works and choose "Show Design Information" to play with these features. Click here to download.

I've been working on a new version for quite some time, but was having trouble fixing one last bug. I finally discovered the problem so I'll put together a release soon.

Needle Works 0.2

I released Needle Works version 0.2 just now. This version has basic support for printing and, through Mac OS X, conversion from PES to PDF. It also has an "Inspector Panel" feature where one can view design details such as stich count, colors, and color changes. The direct link to download the program is here.

Printing support

I added basic printing support to the Needle Works source code. Before I release a new version I'd like to try to add stitch information to the printed output. If it takes too long however, I'll release a version with the basic support.

Needle Works 0.1

Needle Works is a free, open source, PES embroidery file viewer for Mac OS X which I just published over at googlecode.com. This first version has no features other than the ability to just display .PES files. I believe it will only work on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) at this time.

I plan on adding additional features such as printing and minor design changes such as the ability to flip horizontally or vertically and color modification. Most features, at least initially, will be Mom-driven, that is, I am going to work on those features that my mom needs first. :-) This is my first Mac OS X application, however, so it may take me some time to learn the platform.
